Some studies show, in classic mediation, that the parties agree on comprehensive resolutions in 75 to 85 percent of cases mediated. In court ordered mediated settlement conferences, the settlement rate is substantially lower.
Mediators can empower clients by helping them be at their best (rather than their worst) during a challenging time in their lives. They enable individuals or groups to experience an active role in their dispute(creative choice vs. court imposition), and create a clear and desirable road map for the future.
